What are your thoughts on Microsoft's click once to block all external content (that appears more than a few times through-out your whole browsing history), or its proper name InPrivacy Filtering.

Not only is it easy to click on by mistake, I have seen a *lot* of people ask, and get the answer to, how to turn it on permenatly. This blocks *any* external web metrics (well anything that is on more than a site or two, and a whole heap of other stuff too).

I wonder just how much it is effecting the visable stats between the different browsers, because it removes a portion of IE8 from being seen from any common external javascript/images/whatever...

Can't wait that long - will have to advise all the people who 'borrow' my book that they will have to buy a copy before then!

And before that I guess I will have to play / teach myself motion charts..!

Gerry: Yes, its a difficult task to write a book on a constantly moving target - hence the use of this blog!

I am about to start on revisions this summer, so expect the second edition to be available early in 2010 (hopefully Jan).

"Motion Charts Data ...Its one of the first charts I look at to gain a bigger picture overview prior to focusing down on a specific referrer/metrics/keyword etc. "

Really? I never touch this, and of course it is missing from the version of the book I bought off you ;) talking of which are you planning a revised version? its a "well used book" on my desk at work (SEO @ DirectNews), and i think another copy is something we will need to buy soon...
